A. What is WINNINGisforLOSERS?
WINNINGisforLOSERS (WIFL) is a club that allows various cartoonists from DeviantART, particularly cartoonists and webcomic creators, to participate in a tournament that features their characters competing with one another in a Super Smash Bros. tradition.

B. How Many Characters are in WIFL?
For each tournament, 32 deviants are allowed to enter one original character from a webcomic or series of artwork that they have featured DeviantART. Once all 32 characters are entered, the WIFL chairman Jason Cospelich (aka simpleCOMICS) begins working on the schematics for beginning the tournament by pairing off characters for the first round.

C. How Many Rounds are There?
Each tournament features five rounds. The first round will feature the first 16 fights, two characters per fight. At the end of Round One, only 16 characters will move on to the next round. Round Two features 8 fights. Each round ends with the roster being cut in half. Until there are only two characters remaining to fight in Round Five.

D. How Do Characters Win?
Winners are determined by votes. Each fight is represented with a poll where anyone can vote for the winner. The owners of the characters are allowed to promote the fight and ask their watchers and friends to vote for them. The polls stay up for three to four days to allow deviants to vote over weekends. When the polls close, the winner is determined.

E. What if There is a Tie?
Should a tie occur, Jason will flip a coin. (This is subject to change should a better idea be proposed)

F.  Who Draws the Pictures for the Tournament?
After the pairing is determined for Round One, Jason will send a note to 16 different deviants asking them to draw or create a picture of two WIFL characters fighting (titled “Faceoff Artwork”). They are generally given a few days to create the picture and are encouraged to post the Faceoff Artwork on their own accounts. Jason will download their artwork and apply it to the “vs” templates that are posted on the WIFL account. Links are provided to the owners of the featured characters and to the original artwork created by the artist. Members are not required to create “Faceoff Artwork” to participate in WIFL Tournaments (it is appreciated though). Deviants do NOT have to have a character in the current roster to do Faceoff Artwork. Anyone is allowed to do the Faceoff Artwork by sending a note to WIFL requesting two characters to illustrate.

G. What Happens if the Deviant Doesn’t or Can’t Finish the Faceoff Artwork?
If, for whatever reason, a deviant cannot finish faceoff artwork within the designated time, they are urged to inform WIFL via note. They don’t have to explain themselves, just urged to let WIFL know as soon as possible. If not, Jason has to create artwork at the last minute to get the polls up on time.

H. What is the Prize for Winning?
The owner of the winning character of a tournament is allowed to choose one of the following as their prize:
- Subscription
- Adcast(500 clicks)
- Free Commission
- Twenty Dollars (Only in the U.S.)
- Free Print of Their Artwork (Only in the U.S.)

I. Can I Make Fanart?
Absolutely anyone is allowed to make fanart with any characters. There are no rules to fanart other than to exclude nudity and to give credit to the owners of the characters. Anyone who creates fanart of any kind will get and instant favorite from WIFL. Fanart is encouraged and appreciated.

J. What Are the Rules?
RULES: (Subject to Change)
1. Only vote ONCE. Do not use more than one account to vote for any character. If you are caught doing this, you will be banned from WIFL. (I’m sorry, but it’s only fair)
2. Do not insult or be offensive in any way to any members of WIFL, even if your character loses.
3. Only use ONE DeviantART account to promote your character. You can use other accounts to promote the faceoffs and tournament, but only ONE is allowed to say “Vote for me!”
4. No nudity or profanity is allowed in the artwork. Mild violence is acceptable, but nothing obscene.
5. Do NOT get upset when your character is defeated in a fight. All but one character will be defeated in each tournament.
6. Give credit to the owners of the characters in all artwork you create.
7. Be fair.
8. HAVE FUN! This is all for fun!

K. *A Note on Spamming
It is not against the rules to spam other members of DA, but it is discouraged and you do it at your own risk, because DA can ban you for it. WIFL won't punish you for spamming, but DA will.

L. *A Note on Returning Champions
The champion character of a tournament is not allowed to enter the next tournament. The creator can, however, enter a new character for the next tournament.
